Early from my camping trip because my 11 month old refuses to sleep and my 3 year got an ear infection. I was supposed to be there for another 2 nights. Today was going to be some overlanding out to Grosvenors arch....sigh. Whats better than not sleeping for 2 nights and tending to crying children in a tent trailer? that...and then packing up and driving 6 hours with a heavy trailer! Man I'm spent.
It was fun while it lasted though.
This is window bridge in Bryce
And this is looking south from the southern tip of Bryce.
We'll be back, but the misses and I are both pretty disappointed in the obvious decision that we needed to come back.
Still in for a long night with the 3 year old though...and probably the other for good measure.

Hope the little one gets better! With that load, what is the LC's top speed? You can feel a 12 ft. Boston Whaler behind mine, so that's gotta be a lot up hills even for a LC.

Nice pictures. Sorry to hear that things got a bit cut short.

Trailer is about 3400 lbs loaded, and I was anywhere from 5000-9100 feet. You feel it but the re-gear helps. I can maintain 50-55 over even the steepest tallest passes and that's good enough for me.

Woah. I need to head west sometime.

Man I have been dying to take the kids camping but miner are 4 and 3 and they are wild and would probably make a tent look like the tazmanian devil just ran through it. I mean literally through the side without using a door.

I can't maintain 55 at higher altitude with more than 4 people inside. This makes me sad. I NEED TORQUE.

3F?

I meant my 4Runner, the 3F has actual torque.

Bummer. Hope the kids are better soon.
Tonight is my last night at the cabin. I drive to Milwaukee in the morning and climb on a plane for Denver tomorrow evening. Not looking forward to being back at work.

Ah, I've missed a lot I see. wow, yeah If I recall that engine took a 4unner 1/4 to get to 66, and got to 60 in something like 15.7 seconds. The 1fz-fe feels like a dog sometimes, but I remind myself all the time...it could be worse.

18 seconds with 33 inches of tire to spin! I've pretty much gotten used to it now though.

All you do to solve that is the following:
1. Walk to the beach with them and spend hours there while they swim and do stuff on the beach
2. Have games and/or camp where there is a local town that has stuff for kids to do as a plan B.
3. Get a big tent. This is the one I have when I go camping with my two kids (it's 14' x 10'):

That's a 50/50. Sometimes when I run my kids out they wind down and sleep. Other times it's about the same as if they did a couple lines of coke. When they're tired the will sometimes get super amped up until on of them gets injured and passes out.

Ugh, bummer...
